Concept
This website is about a Chinese orchestra concert in Singapore based on the brochure design I did. The purpose of the website is introducing the concert and promote ticket purchase.
My webpage is categorised by tickets, programme, artist, about (SCO). Consider some viewers want to straight go to the purchase page, the book tickets button is obvious enough in the landing page. Scroll down the home page follow by the highlight of programme, short description of artist and SCO. Each of them have
a know much button which allows the views to related webpages. I design the menubar and “go up” button on the bottom of each web pages, which is easy for
the viewers to go to the next page.
The style of the web is modern Chinese style. I use elements like ink, brush stroke and Chinese calligraphy on top of grey background. To create an original and handmade look, I treated all the images a rough edge. The vibrant geometric
artwork I illustrate is a whole piece in the brochure, but I crop it into pieces and
make them be part of the decoration in the background. The fonts I choose are Century Gothic and Didot. Didot is curly and elegant, century gothic is simple and easy to identify. These two typefaces combine the beauty of traditional and modern perfectly. To keep the web design consistent, I use assets to standardise colour scheme, symbol and character style.
